Community Arts Wing (CAW) is a nonprofit arts center dedicated to Always Building Community through Art. We believe creativity has the power to connect people, spark conversation, and strengthen our community.

CAW brings together artists, makers, performers, and storytellers in collaborative spaces where creativity and community thrive. Through exhibitions, workshops, classes, and special events, we celebrate artistic expression while creating opportunities for learning, collaboration, and meaningful connection.

Looking Ahead

CAW is currently exploring options for creating an active arts campus in Ames. Our goals for this property are as follows:

• Affordable Workspaces for Artists, including a fully-functioning pottery studio with electric, gas, and atmospheric kilns AND dust-free workspace for artists working in non-clay materials. Additionally, we aim to have a working photography studio, 3-d printing space, and opportunities for metal, wood, and glass artists.
  
• An immersive gallery showcasing the work of both CAW members and guest artists
  
• Community-centered immersive storytelling events that invite audiences to engage with art in new and inspiring ways
  
• Artist-led workshops and classes for community members

As we grow, CAW will continue to develop programs, partnerships, and creative initiatives that enrich our region and foster a welcoming home for artists and the community alike.
